Background & Objective: High-risk (HR) HPV infection is the major cause of cervical cancer, which is still one of the most common cancers among women. Based on some not-published results, it seems that some of the other HR HPVs might be as important as HPV 16, and 18 in developing high-grade CIN. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between Other HPV and high-grade CIN.Materials & Methods: In this prospective study from 2019 to 2022 (approved by the ethics committee), all women with positive HPV based on the COBAS method were invited to participate in the study (N=646). For all the patients, colposcopy was done, and then the liquid-based samples of women with Other HPV positives were reanalyzed by HPV typing.Results: All the patients who were infected with HPV18 were involved in CIN1. On the other hand, 50% of patients who were infected with HPV18 were involved in CIN2. 50% of patients with HPV45 were involved in CIN2. There is also a significant relationship between HPV31 and CIN3.Conclusion: Because in our study there was a significant relationship between CIN3 and HPV31; and CIN2 with HPV45, and in the COBAS method, HPV31 and HPV45 are only reported under the general title of Other HPV, because of the possibility of the importance of other HPV with high-grade neoplasias, it is recommended to analyze the other HPV with HPV typing. Further studies are needed to confirm our findings.

Background & Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the endometriosis-associated symptoms and diagnostic delay through an online survey.Materials & Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Australia using an online web-based survey. All data were entered into and analyzed using the STATA software (version 14.1). A total of 903 respondents completed an online survey from September 2013 to October 2015.Results: Out of 903, 71.10% were Australians and 28.90% were Non-Australian, with a self-reported diagnosis of endometriosis confirmed by surgery. Out of the participants, 86.5% completed the online survey. Delay in diagnosis was 8.1±6.2 years. There was no difference in the age range (P < /i> = 0.35), mean age of onset of the first symptoms (P < /i> = 0.93), and delay in diagnosis (P < /i> = 0.11) between both groups. Most common endometriosis-related symptoms that all respondents had experienced in their lifetime were period pain (98.1%), fatigue (94%), bloating (90.7%), ovulation pain (88.7%), pelvic pain (87.3%), pain during and before/after sexual activity (82.7%), and heavy bleeding (82.2%). Treatments used by affected women included: pain killers (96%), hormonal medication (84.7%), surgical treatments (84.5%), and delayed fertility (37.1%). Conclusion: Vast similarities in demographics and endometriosis-associated symptoms among the Australian and non-Australian women with endometriosis support the universality of the disease characteristics. Delay in diagnosis of endometriosis is a problem and the reasons for delayed diagnosis must be understood to try to shorten this delay. Besides pain, patients with endometriosis suffer from a variety of other symptoms; hence, any treatment must take into account the most prominent symptoms.

Background: Menstruation with cramping pain is one of the problems that appear during adolescence. The severity of dysmenorrhea affects the extent of activity limitation. Given the high prevalence of dysmenorrhea in adolescents and the personal-social effect of this condition on their daily lives, using reliable tools for assessing the severity of this condition in different populations of different countries can significantly contribute to the standard diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of people suffering from dysmenorrhea.Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on a population of adolescent girls (Iran) in 2019. The research was approved and monitored by the relevant supervisory body, which issued the pertinent ethics licenses and letters of introduction. Sampling was performed using the cluster method from public schools. Inclusion criteria were Iranian nationality and not having any underlying diseases. The exclusion criterion was the unwillingness to continue participation. The data collection tools were a questionnaire of demographic and menstrual information as well as verbal rating scale (VRS; for both drug and pain) and working ability, location, intensity, days of pain, dysmenorrhea (WaLIDD) questionnaires.Results: The participants had a mean age of 15.6±2.3 years and a mean age of menarche of 12.5±1.3 years. The best sensitivity and specificity of the tools were respectively calculated as 63.7% and 56.9% for WaLIDD (at point 4.5), 57.3% and 70.8% for VRS (pain; at point 1.5), and 33.9% and 72.2% for VRS (drug; at point 0.5).Conclusion: According to the results of this study, none of the tools had high specificity and sensitivity at the same time. However, WaLIDD had high sensitivity, and VRS (for both pain and drug) exhibited high specificity.

Background & Objective: HELLP syndrome is characterized by hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelet count; it probably shows a severe form of preeclampsia. This syndrome usually occurs in third trimester of pregnancy and may be associated with severe complications, including subcapsular liver hematoma, eclampsia, pulmonary edema, liver or renal dysfunction, and even maternal death. This study aimed to report a case of maternal death misdiagnosis of HELLP syndrome.
Case Report: A 28-year-old pregnant woman with gestational age of 28 weeks referred to an emergency ward because of epigastric pain, nausea, and vomiting. She was discharged after receiving outpatient treatment. The next day, she was referred to the hospital because of seizure, decreased level of consciousness, and hypertension. A cesarean section was performed immediately. Unfortunately, some hours after the surgery, cardiac arrest occurred and she died in intensive care unit (ICU).
Conclusion: Nausea, vomiting, and epigastric pain in the late second or third trimester of pregnancy are among the significant symptoms which should be seriously taken into consideration. Therefore, it is recommended that a patient be hospitalized and precise evaluation be performed to rule out the life-threatening differential diagnoses, like HELLP syndrome, and to prevent dangerous complications which can lead to maternal death.
